*A special enrollment period is a window which allows an individual to enroll in an individual health insurance plan outside the annual open enrollment period. Special enrollment is \u201ctriggered\u201d by certain qualifying events that are defined by law. In most cases, special enrollment periods last 60 days from the date of the qualifying event. Individuals who didn\u2019t enroll at the end of the previous year for health insurance coverage this year during Open Enrollment will need to currently qualify for a Special Enrollment Period to obtain health insurance coverage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
