The death of George Floyd has sparked international attention on the issues involving police brutality and racial injustice among Black America. You may be thinking how can you support the movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re looking for other ways to support, consider supporting black-owned businesses. Entrepreneurship is a great vehicle for black people as workplace discrimination is still very present. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve received so much support in the last few weeks which has meant a lot as I’m on the emotional roller coaster accompanied with being a black woman in this country. Help other black entrepreneurs feel the love right now. Here’s how:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Share Their Business Pages<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, a lot of black businesses are overlooked despite the great work they do for their customers. Take this opportunity to shout out your favorite black businesses on social media or in a post-round-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the best ways to support black-owned businesses is with your dollar. There are so many amazing businesses who offer high-quality products and services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re looking at a service-based business<\/a> like mine where you may not need their service, consider buying a gift for a friend. You could also purchase a low cost item like the products I have in my shop<\/a> because anything helps!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Offer a Kind Word<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes we underestimate the power of a kind word. A simple message or text goes a long way. I’ve been blessed to have many friends leave me unexpected comments, messages, texts, and even calls. Just offer support and love and it goes a long way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listen to Their Experience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I truly believe that if we started listening more, we’d be able to understand. Explaining my own experience is not easy, but when I did, it provided clarity around what’s really going on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
